Clark is a detailed fox amigurumi pattern ready to teach you new techniques in crochet. With glitter eyes and unique, realistic shaping, this plushy is as bold as his tail is fluffy.

After many requests and a high response on the poll, Clark the Fox is ready to make his debut.

fox crochet plushie free crochet pattern from Hooked by Kati

As with most of my designs, I spent time looking at pictures of live foxes and silver foxes while researching my plans for Clark. I love the way that they look so confident and majestic, but they also have this swagger that makes it feel like that majesty is as natural to them as breathing.

I went with a turned head, with the hips and hind legs off to one side, to give that feeling of relaxed confidence.

Clark seems to say, “Yeah, I’m gorgeous. What of it?”

Construction

If you are not a fan of the short rounds, this pattern will make you happy. There are no short rounds!

The curve of the tail is done by working double crochets on one side of the tail and singles on the other, so it curves naturally around.

The biggest ‘what the?’ for this pattern is the body shaping. It will look crooked when you get to the hips, but trust me, they are off-kilter on purpose. I’ve added several places to mark specific stitches to help you attach pieces in the correct place so your fox has the swagger he was born with.

This pattern also contains some loop stitches, spike stitches, and bobble stitches to add some cool textures (and that super fluffy tail).

And while I did my best to minimize color changes, the snout has some strange ones. Be sure to take that section ONE. STITCH. AT. A. TIME.

I would recommend purchasing the Premium Pattern for Clark the Fox. Much like Vincent, I filled the Premium Pattern with lots of graphics that help explain the assembly. You won’t be disappointed.

Purchase this pattern as a Premium Pattern! Premium patterns are printable, ad-free, downloadable .pdf file with extra assembly photos and unlimited one-on-one help from me. This version can be purchased in the Hooked by Kati Shop,  Etsy or Ravelry.

Advanced. Knowledge needed of chains (ch), single crochet (sc), double crochet (dc), front loops only (FLO), increases and decreases. Knowledge of amigurumi part attachment is recommended. 1. Just love this little guy. My husband said of all the things I’ve ever made (I’ve been crocheting 55+ years) this is the cutest, he’s liked other stuff, but this has been his favorite. I made it for our granddaughter birthday. However I did tweak the pattern and made it into a bank. Thank you so much for sharing the pattern.

  2. I’m making Clark the Fox, but I’m stuck between rows 37 and 38. I can’t understand how to make the transition. Can you help me?
