It can be difficult to find gifts for geeky/nerdy friends or family members. As crocheters, we love making our gifts, but how do we incorporate our artform with this hard-to-buy-for person?

I’ve assembled some awesome (and fast!) fantasy- or gamer-themed crochet patterns that will appeal to the most discerning geek.

These patterns are free in a text-only format on the blog, and some are available in a Premium printable format, full of pictures.

Gift Idea: If you are shopping for someone who crochets, you can bundle up a printed premium pattern with some of the recommended yarn as a great gift for creative crocheting minds!

Dragon Scale Clutch (or Pencil Pouch)

This little pouch is a favorite gift for tween and teenagers or adults who like to carry their wallet and keys in a stylish clutch on a night out. These look awesome in striped or ombre yarns.

D20 Baby Blanket (20-Sided Die for Dungeons & Dragons)

Know a gamer friend who is having a baby or a who has a new baby? This D20 baby blanket is perfect for the dungeon masters in your life. Rolling a “natural 20” as the dice shows on this blanket is great luck and often a symbol of automatic success. It’s the nerd world equivalent of a 4-leaf clover, making it a great gift for a new baby.

This is a great gag gift or office secret santa gift. Nose warmers are hilarious! Especially in cold climates. This one has an added bonus of a mustache to make it extra dorky. 🙂

Large Dragon Plushie

Have a little more time to get a gift ready? This dragon plush is 18″ long and is a wonderful gift for kids, tweens, teens, and the kid-at-heart. Golly, I’m 37 and I LOVE getting stuffed animals as gifts! This fellow can be made to hang his tail over a shoulder or a shelf or he can have his tail out in front of him so he can sit on a bed.

  1. Your items are so adorable!
Do you ever have a sale on your patterns? There’s several that I’d like to have to try for my grandsons but if I buy the patterns at the prices, I can’t afford the yarn. It’s a real pain when you have to live on a fixed income for disability, but thank you for cute designs.
Have a great day and keep on designing. Great patterns,
    Debbie.

  2. The first Scavenger Hunt picture is some reindeer, then as follows: holly, mistletoe, Santa’s sleigh, snowman, Christmas gift, stocking and finally, Christmas tree.
