DIY Squinkies Stitch Markers | Video Tutorial
Around our house, there is an almost-constant din of two little boys playing with a variety of toys, action figures, and video games.
So it was no surprise when some of those tiny toys, namely the Star Wars version of Squinkies, “Battle Pods,” ended up being passed down to Mom.
I was thrilled to get them, mind you. I have been making earrings out of duplicates for years! But this time, I wanted some create a few DIY stitch markers for crochet.
Squinkies Stitch Markers
You Will Need:
- Squinkies or Battle Pods
- lobster claw jewelry clasps (as large as you want)
- 1/2″ eye pins, any metal
- Needle nose pliers
Step 1: Very carefully, insert the eye pin into the center of the top of the Squinkie. Do this slowly and in small increments. It takes a lot of force, and if you go too fast, you can bend the pin, and it will stick out the side. You don’t want that!
Step 2: Gently bend open the eye pin and slip on the lobster claw clasp.
Step 3: Bend the eye pin closed.
TADA!
