Wall Dragon Crochet Pattern | Bishop Is Here!
After months and months of buildup, and a lot of delays (sorry!), Bishop the Wall Dragon is finally arriving at Hooked by Kati on Tuesday, June 9th! This is far and away the biggest project I have ever taken on, and quite possibly the coolest pattern I’ve ever written.

Measurements
- With Wide Wings: 48” wide x 22” tall x 7” deep
- With Narrow Wings: 36” wide x 22” tall x 7” deep
Difficulty
Advanced. The wall dragon is not a project to take on if you are new to amigurumi, although I am confident that my instructions are easy to follow and will walk you through every single stitch. If you know the basic stitches and are comfortable working in the round (and learning new things), I’ll joyfully hold your hand for the rest. 😉
Take this one step at a time, you’ll have a lot of fun with him.
Supply List

- Big Twist Value yarn, 100% acrylic, worsted weight, 380 yds/6 oz/170 g, Mustard (MUST), 2 balls; Rust (RUST), 1 ball; Red (RED), < 1 ball; Aran (ARAN), < 1 ball; White (WHT), < 1 ball.
- G (4.00 mm) hook
- Two 24mm OR 25mm colored slit-pupil safety eyes
- Polyfil stuffing
- 2 – 16″-18″ pieces of floral wire, 16 gauge, twisted together, ends folded over to prevent sharp points (recommended for neck)
- 2 sheets 10.2″ x 13.2″ plastic canvas
- 6 – 3/16” x 36” wooden dowels OR my Dollar Tree hack 😁 (optional for wing structure)
- 4 or 5 aluminum pop tabs for hanging (or other hanging method of your choice)
- 5 wall hangers (3M Command hooks are my favorite, but nails or thumb tacks work well too)
- Tapestry needle, small enough to fit through holes in plastic canvas
- Straight pins
- Scissors
- Stitch markers

If you want to actually enjoy making a 4-foot dragon, the PDF is how I’d recommend doing it. 👍

Where can I put my wall dragon?
He may seem large and in charge, but Bishop has a lot of flexibility when it comes to mounting him. Since he’s made of crochet, he can be held up by anything from small 3M hooks to thumb tacks! Mine is proudly above my gaming desk. 🙂 But I can’t wait to see where you put yours!
