There are hundreds of adorable patterns for crocheted holiday decorations, but did you know you can use pieces of your favorite Hooked by Kati amigurumi patterns to make incredible Christmas decor?

Many of the amigurumi parts used to construct HbK designs also make amazing accents, accessories, or even tree toppers! Go elegant with some feathers from Regal the Peacock, or be whimsical with a Fa-La-Llama head ornament!

Check out my favorite patterns to use for Christmas decorations, and then let me know of your ideas. What HbK pattern elements are you using in your holiday decorations?

Peacock Feathers For Trees and Wreaths

My absolute favorite crocheted decoration in my house is my peacock wreath. I took a large wreath that we always hang in the living room that already had ribbon and a few flowers on it, and I added Regal the Peacock and few extra tail feathers to pull it all together. Peacock feathers make such an elegant addition to holiday wreaths, trees, or garlands.

I recommend using the pattern for the Medium Tail Feathers to make them long enough to use in anything, but short enough to be manageable.

Mini Owls In Any Garland

Mini Owls are adorable highlighting any greenery. The forrest, “woodland wonderland” theme is big in holiday decorating, and adding a few little owls can add the perfect touch. This pattern works up fast and you can use any variety of colors to match your decor.

Add A Headband To Monroe’s Antlers

Monroe the Wolpertinger has antlers that are just the right length to make a funny reindeer headband. Simply create your antlers and sew them around a dollar-store plastic headband. They are small enough to stand up on their own without getting floppy, and fast enough to have done in time for your business Christmas party!

Anduin’s Wings As Angel Wings

Using angel wings in your decorating adds a classy touch. Attach them to a bauble, use them as a tree topper, or simply insert them into your tree or garland. Who has the best wings? Hands down, that award goes to Anduin the Gryphon. He has beautiful, intricate wings that will wow your guests this holiday.

Any Ami Head Can Be An Ornament!

Did you know ANY amigurumi head can be made into an ornament? It’s true!

Take any HbK amigurumi head pattern and create it with a D(3.00 mm) or E(3.5 mm) hook and worsted weight yarn. You can add small safety eyes or leave them off and add two embroidered crescents to make them look sleepy. Want to make them extra festive? Add multi-colored blobs at different intervals on the face, then thread a strand of green through each blob to create a string of Christmas lights that wraps around your new ornament.

My personal favorite is making a Fa-La-Llama out of Groovy the Llama‘s head. But Vincent the Dragon, Ulyssa the Unicorn, and Clark the Fox also make great head ornaments.
